Active Pyro

The Active Pyro® system is a waste treatment system that transforms discarded waste materials into useable energy and/or useful clean fuel. Steam and electricity-powered devices can be run using the energy created from the pyrolysis system; Methanol, ethanol, synthetic diesel, hydrogen, and other fuel sources can also be created from the processed waste materials. Organic carbon-based materials are processed using the RODECS® gasification system breaking them down into component gases "synthesis gas" or "syngas" is then created utilizing the ACTIVE PYROLYSIS® concept.

Chinook's patented Active Reformer process begins with actively conditioning the syngas and altering the gaseous composition according to the target requirements. Through a thorough cleaning process, the impurities and harmful components are stripped from the conditioned syngas, leaving behind only its basic components - pure carbon monoxide, and hydrogen.
Off take requirements determine further treatment of the produced syngas. To yield steam, the syngas is fully combusted in a controlled unit, and the heat created is used to generate the steam with our high-efficiency boiler. The system produces both electricity, and steam for use in other processes, and the residual heat recovered can be used for subsequent conditioning procedures.
Renewable fuels, namely biofuels and hydrogen fuels, are created by further conditioning the ultra-clean syngas to suit the catalyst requirement. The conditioned syngas is stored in a standard reservoir, the Gasometer, prior to entering the Alcohol synthesis loop - a process in which the syngas is broken down and chemically recombined to create a range of ethanol-based fuel products.
Active Pyro® is not restricted to one type of feed material. The universal gasification system permits the Active Pyro® plant to accept a wide range of biomass and discarded waste materials without restrictions or limitations. The conditioning process, regardless of the feed material is high efficiency and runs at a low operating cost with minimal manpower required.
Most discarded waste materials are heterogeneous and inconsistent, making the Chinook system ideally suited for end stage recycle businesses. The Active Pyro® system can successfully process a wide variety of waste material using the same equipment, without the need to add any additional component or change any design, or add any pre-processing step. This flexibility makes the Chinook system a cost-effective and stable addition to any waste-processing plant.
Chinook's proprietary environmentally-friendly system has been in operation for over eight years; complying with all regulatory emission standards worldwide, it is well known in the industry as the system that reduces harmful pollutant emissions to lower levels than any other system.
